HM Plant was founded in 1979 as a sub-dealer to distribute Hitachi’s range of hydraulic excavators. Hitachi then appointed HM Plant as its official UK importer in 1980.

1983 was the first year that HM Plant and Hitachi became the market leaders for mid-ranged excavators in the UK.

Since then, HM Plant has held the accolade of being the UK’s number one supplier of mid-range excavators for 22 of the past 24 years.
