Claims Consultant - Quantity Surveying background required

Our client is a UK firm with a number of offices who are working both across the U.K. and on projects worldwide providing a commercial service to contractors for Claims, Contracts Management etc. They now have a requirement for 3 - 4 months based near to Perth, Australia. They require two Claims Consultants who will ideally be Quantity Surveyors by training to become involved in a claim on a large harbour works project. This is a high profile project which is in delay and overrun of costs. You will be a British or Australian Quantity Surveyor with Claims experience, be able to work as part of a team, write narrative, help to dig out information for the formulation of the claim and ideally have previous experience of civil engineering type projects. You will ideally have a Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar, possibly be MRICS, MCIArb or similar and have a number of years of claims and contracts experience gained with either a large contractor or another firm of construction claims consultants. You should be available to travel in March and work 6 days per week for a continuous period of 3 to 4 months. Accommodation, transport, flights etc. will all be provided.

Our client is a firm of construction consultants based in London who provide cost management and project management services to a range of clients. They now seek an experienced Project Manager who must speak Fluent French and English for a new build high quality hotel project based in the south of France near Nice. There may be some requirement for travel to Paris as that is where the Architect is based. Accommodation will be provided. You must have a good knowledge of the complete construction process from planning permission stage through to completion and handover on site, and you will need to have previous experience of being a project manager on hotel projects. You will also need to have been a project manager for a firm of consultants and people who have worked for contractors will not be suitable as front end project management is required. Our client is a property developer and they currently have a contract requirement for an experienced Clerk of Works for around 3 months to work on a high quality development in central London. The individual will be resident on-site. The candidate needs to have experience in construction and needs to be able to read drawings but the primary purpose of the role is to monitor productivity of the Main Contractor on-site on an hourly basis and at the end of each week submit a report to the client which clearly records what the contractor has been doing, how many men were involved, when they start work, when they finish work and when they took breaks. The candidate might be a Clerk of Works but will not be suitable for a site manager. This is a temporary role for a period of approximately 3 months. The hours will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m, Monday to Friday. The project is located on New Bond Street in central London. It is a 27,000 ft.² renovation of a Grade 2 listed building. There is a significant amount of engineering works being undertaken to the project however the role will monitor architectural works to the external façade. The opportunity is available immediately. No involvement in problem-solving is required since this is purely monitoring role. A resident engineer already exists on-site to facilitate the former.

They now have a requirement based in the Ontario, Canada location for a Degree qualified and ideally chartered M & E Quantity Surveyor with Project Management experience for a challenging project which will mainly be site based although there will be a requirement sometimes to be in the office which is in Toronto. The project is the construction of a large manufacturing plant from the ground up for the processing of food stuffs. The project is very high tech so any previous experience in the construction of similar projects would be welcomed including similar type projects e.g. pharmaceutical and similar. Our client would prefer someone who has equal mechanical to electrical experience and who has ideally both project management and quantity surveying experience with the project management being the most important and it would be preferred if you had held a similar role with a firm of consultants rather than contractors. Ideally you will be BSc qualified and MRICS / MCIBSE or similar and you will need to be Canadian, British or Irish passport holders. Benefits will include bonus, health insurance etc.
