Joint Co-ordination Unit

 

Nine Elms on the South Bank encompasses 195 hectares of land, stretching from Lambeth Bridge to Chelsea Bridge.  It represents the final piece in the re-development of the Southbank, including ‘iconic landmark building’ such as Battersea Power Station and New Covent Garden Market.

 

The area is classified as an Opportunity Area in the Mayor’s London Plan, designating it as an area for major housing and employment growth. It is anticipated that the site will generate around 20,000 employment opportunities during the construction phase and around 25,000 end use opportunities.

 

A joint Coordination Unit (JCU) has been set up by key local partners to ensure that significant numbers of local people are able to access employment and skills opportunities that arise from a nationally significant regeneration project.

 

The JCU is seeking to appoint highly skilled and experienced member of staff  in the post of:

 

Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

£35,406 - £38,229 p.a. incl.          

36 hours per week

Fixed term contract for 3 years

 

To ensure the effective performance management, monitoring, reporting and evaluation of outcomes and targets in relation to the Skills and Employment outcomes of the Nine Elms Vauxhall programme.

Wandsworth Council’s Economic Development Office is seeking a Placement Officer who specialises in construction to join our job brokerage team.  Major investment at Nine Elms Vauxhall and elsewhere in the borough provides the Council with access to new jobs and apprenticeship opportunities.  Work Match our job brokerage team helps to maximise the opportunities and to broker local residents into these new positions.  Reporting to the Access to Employment Officer, the Placement Officer will provide a screening and matching service for local jobseekers and local employers to ensure that job ready local residents are able to access employment.

 

You will need to have experience of working in a similar environment with a focus on construction, where you have helped to match the aspirations, knowledge and experience of local people to the skills required by employers.  You will be able to identify training needs and job goals and help jobseekers to find suitable support and guidance to access work opportunities in the borough.  You will have some experience of marketing and organising recruitment events to attract local people to look for work with the job brokerage.

Their core business is Restoration, Heritage and External Refurbishment/Repair.

 

Due to sustained growth they are seeking to recruit an ambitious, commercially aware Contracts Manager.

 

Project Manager / Contracts Manager

 

Key responsibilities:

  • The organising, programming & administering of pre-commencement work in conjunction with our logistics’ director.
  • Project manage the site works including attending site meetings, collating instructions, variations, liaising with QS, assisting with final account to close out the project to full completion.
  • Client liaison, business retention & business development.
  • Typical projects up to £5M

 

Background

The successful applicant will have:

  • Excellent communication & social skill-sets.
  • Excellent client-facing skills.
  • Excellent negotiating skills & a very confident manner.
  • Excellent awareness & implementation of “service Industry” skills.
  • Technical competence

Qualifications:
