The new subsidiary brings together Steels Engineering, Jordan Nuclear and Chieftain Insulation, with offices in Sellafield, Aldermaston, Barrow in Furness and Teesside.

Redhall Nuclear managing director Helen Simms said: “Bringing together these businesses allows us to build on our enviable track record of successfully and safely delivering a diverse range of engineering disciplines within the challenging environments of the nuclear industry. This strategic step in our growth will enable us to provide a greater depth and breadth to our existing customers, whilst ensuring we develop best practice across the business. It also provides us with the financial strength and capability to take on larger projects.”

The new company aims to build on its long term presence at key UK nuclear sites, now able to offer complete turnkey project solutions, from in‐house design, through engineering and manufacturing expertise, to project and site management.

Redhall Nuclear is split into four divisions: Power Generation, Defence, Decommissioning and Waste Management, and Nuclear Growth Areas (including fuels).

Redhall chairman David Jackson said: “Redhall Nuclear will be one of the leading organisations in its field, with the financial and engineering resources to compete on a national basis. The complementary skills of these operations provide a genuine alternative to traditional competition. It will significantly enhance the group’s ability to compete for larger contracts in both the nuclear civil and defence sectors”.
