The company has bought £2m worth of SkyJack powered access platforms, £1m on hybrid aerial lifts and £1.5m on BoSS alloy towers and podiums.

The SkyJack equipment includes the12ft vertical mast lift and the 19ft electric scissor lift, which is the tallest self-propelled lift in Speedy’s core fleet. The units will be stocked in specialist locations throughout Speedy’s national depot network.

Both units can be driven at full height and have a two person capacity as well as a range of safety features including overload sensing systems and a tilt alarm with drive and lift cut out.

Speedy supply chain director Andy Connor said: “Working at height is one of the most dangerous parts of a contractor’s job. Contractors need equipment that can not only ensure they can get the job done safely, but which is also durable, reliable and allows them to work effectively in a variety of environments.

“These new SkyJack products will complement our existing fleet, and when used correctly will greatly reduce the risk of falls when working at height.”
