AFI takes over Altitude Access

2 Dec 14 Powered access firm AFI has strengthened its presence in the East Midlands by acquiring Altitude Access.

Altitude Access has an annual turnover of £1.6m, a rental fleet of 180 powered access machines and a depot in Mansfield.

AFI director Steve Williams said: “This further acquisition once again demonstrates AFI’s financial strength which enables us to capitalise on opportunities as they arise. Existing AFI customers will gain from AFI now having a stronger presence and resource in the East Midlands, and Altitude Access customers will benefit from having access to one of the most modern powered access rental fleets in the UK, a complete range of training services, and nationwide coverage through our network of 19 depots.”

AFI has a fleet of approximately 5,000 machines and an annual turnover of more than £50m.

The acquisition follows capital expenditure by AFI this year of £10m in more than 600 new access platforms and a further expenditure of more than £1m in delivery and service vans.
