Amey holds on to £100m Severn Trent deal

3 Jun 14 Severn Trent Water has retained Amey for metering services and handed it an extended developer services contract, in a combined deal worth £100m to the contractor.

Under the two contracts, Amey has retained its position as sole provider for Severn Trent Water’s meter installation repair and maintenance contract for a further three year period, with an option to extend for another three years.

Amey has also been appointed as the design and build partner to provide developer services for the next five years, across Severn Trent Water’s entire network. It combines developer requisitions, new connections and meter installations undertaken at the time of connection. It will also see Amey design and construct water mains associated with new developments.

Chief executive Mel Ewell said: “Securing this and the additional developer services contract is testament to our collaborative working relationship and our track record of delivering high quality, efficient and reliable services for customers.”

Severn Trent Water director Andy Smith said: “We seek to develop successful long term relationships with all of our supply chain partners and we’re pleased that we can continue to work together as ‘one team’ with Amey.”

Amey, which acquired Enterprise in 2013, has been working with Severn Trent Water for nearly 20 years.
