Another sports centre for Willmott Dixon

20 May 14 Middlesbrough Council has selected Willmott Dixon to build a new £18m sports centre.

The Sports Village development includes a 400m running track and all weather sports pitch as well as four separate 5-a-side football pitches.

Architect is Enjoy Design and completion is scheduled for spring 2015.

A 250m Olympic-length velodrome is also planned as part of a future phase two.

Only last week Willmott Dixon began construction of a new £25m sports and leisure development in High Wycombe, while in Middlesbrough it recently built eight schools under the Building Schools for the Future programme.

Northeast managing director Anthony Dillon said: “We have a strong local presence in Middlesbrough and our team are delighted to be back again creating something that will have a profound impact on the region’s future prosperity and growth.”
