Ardent lands Bovis telehandler deal

5 Feb 16 Ardent Hire Solutions, formed via the merger last year of Fork Rent and One Call, has signed a three-year deal to supply telehandlers to Bovis Homes.

Under the outsourcing agreement, Bovis will sell its old telehandlers to Ardent. In turn, Ardent Hire will supply newer machines on hire.

An initial tranche of 30 machines will be bought and replaced with new JCB 535-125, 535-140 and 540-170 Ardent Hire machines. Over the three-year contract period Ardent will continue to take Bovis Homes’ telehandlers in stages and replace them with new equipment from the Ardent fleet. The older machines acquired will be traded into the market to maintain the average age of Ardent’s fleet at less than two years.

Ardent chief executive Steve Corcoran said: “We are excited to have completed this transaction with a client of the quality of Bovis Homes with whom we look forward to building a mutually beneficial long term relationship. This contract is in line with our strategy of targeting key UK housebuilding and infrastructure sector companies with an offering built around quality of service.”
