Aston University seeks suppliers for £113m works

16 Oct 15 Birmingham contractors are being invited to meet construction buyers from Aston University to get involved with a £113m investment programme it is planning for the next six years.

Planned schemes vary in value from £25,000 to £20m and include new builds and demolitions as well as major refurbishments.

The university is looking to establish a list of approved suppliers for its main construction contractors.

Supply chain management service Constructionline is hosting a supplier engagement day for the university on 21st October, at Aston University’s Main Building in Birmingham.

Deputy estates director Ian Oldacre said: “We’re embarking on a long-term redevelopment plan to ensure that our university stays ahead of the curve. Working with local businesses is something that we’re really committed to so we look forward to discussing our plans in further detail with attendees on the day.”

The event will run from 1pm until 3pm and is free to attend. For more information or to register interest, go to: www.constructionline.co.uk/events
