Balfour Beatty breaks ground on new military housing
Balfour Beatty Communities has held a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of work on new military family housing at Hunter Army Airfield in Savanah in the US state of Georgia.
The Hunter Ridge neighbourhood will provide 98 three and four bedroom homes for junior enlisted families. The neighbourhood will be completed with two new playgrounds.
Balfour Beatty Communitiesis a subsidiary of Balfour Beatty Capital Group and provides public-private partnership housing and community facilities for members of the US military and their families.
“These new homes at Hunter Ridge will continue the work we have started in delivering the highest quality homes to our service members and their families,” said Balfour Beatty Communities deputy project director Joel Jacobs. “We look forward to another great community that our soldiers and their families will be able to call home.”
This project marks the final phase of new construction in Balfour Beatty’s multi-phased development and renovation project at Hunter Army Airfield. To date, 1,567 new homes have been constructed, 1,729 existing homes have been renovated and 946 old homes demolished.
