Balfour Beatty picked for Dallas high-rise project

22 Jan 16 Balfour Beatty Construction has won a contract to develop two high-rise buildings on a three acre site in Dallas in the US state of Texas.

The company was chosen by joint venture partners Trammell Crow Company and Met Life to provide pre-construction and construction services for the 85,000m2 Park District project, which will connect the downtown, Uptown and Arts districts.

There will be a 20-storey office tower and a 34-storey residential tower, which will have approximately 253 apartments. Both towers will include shops.  Residents will have access to an amenity deck with a pool overlooking Klyde Warren Park and the downtown Dallas skyline.

The scheme has been designed by designed by Dallas-based HKS Architects and the plaza will be designed by the landscape architect Office of James Burnett.

“We are honored to play a part in Dallas’ growth, and Park District is an exciting and strategic project for our North Texas office,” said Pleas Mitchell, senior vice president of operations for Balfour Beatty Construction.

The development team will seek LEED Gold and Silver certification for the office and residential buildings respectively.  

Completion is scheduled for 2017.
