Balfour Beatty wins HK hospital contracts

3 Jul 13 Balfour Beatty subsidiary Parsons Brinckerhoff has been awarded two contracts as building services engineering consultant for hospital projects in Hong Kong.

United Christian Hospital was established in 1973 and is a regional general hospital providing acute, extended care, emergency, and community medical services. The expansion will increase the capacity of the hospital from 1,400 to 1,700 beds.

The redevelopment of Kwong Wah Hospital, which is over 50 years old, involves the construction of a Chinese medicine outpatient clinic and in-patient integrated Chinese and western medicine ward; Chinese medicine laboratory and radiology facilities; an accident and emergency department and emergency medicine ward; and in-patient wards, operating theaters, and intensive care units.

“We are proud to be working with the Hospital Authority, offering our building services capabilities on two significant hospital projects. These hospital redevelopments will enhance the hospitals’ environment and operational efficiency for the benefit of community in Hong Kong,” said Vincent Tse, managing director for buildings of the China Region of Parsons Brinckerhoff.
