Balfour Beatty wins Washington office contract

24 Jul 14 Balfour Beatty Construction has been appointed to provide general contracting services for Republic Properties Corporation’s new office project in Washington, DC in the USA.

The US$39m (£23m) project consists of an eight-storey, 18,500m2 core and shell office building near Union Station.

It is Balfour Beatty’s second project for Republic Properties Corporation. The new contract for 660 North Capitol Street, NW, is the second phase of the project. Balfour Beatty completed the first phase in 2006, and has been providing budgeting and preconstruction services for this second phase during the past eight years.

“Balfour Beatty is thrilled to expand its relationship with Republic Properties,” said David Laib, senior vice president of Balfour Beatty Construction. “We look forward to providing them yet another world class office building.”

Construction is scheduled to begin this month with completion expected in January 2016.
