BAM extends role on Antwerp development

8 Dec 14 Royal BAM Group has won contracts worth more than €20m (£15.8m) to build two apartment blocks and an office as part of the New South (Nieuw Zuid) project in Antwerp, Belgium.

BAM operating company Interbuild will build the Zuidertuin and Zuiderpromenade apartments and for the Green Desk office building. Interbuild is already working with the project developer Triple Living on two other buildings and will start construction works for the three additional buildings in April 2015.

The Zuidertuin (South Garden) has two underground and six above-ground floors with 45 apartments, four duplex apartments, and two retail units. Zuiderpromenade (South Promenade) has an underground floor and six storeys above ground and comprises 29 apartments and three retail units. Green Desk has four floors of offices with a total area of 4,023m2 and two underground parking levels.

All buildings in New South will be heated by a district heating network.
