It is being built for Meininger, an international chain of budget hotels. It will be built next to East Side Gallery, a 1,300m-long remnant of the Berlin Wall that was painted in 1989 by 118 artists.
The seven- to ten-storey hotel has 245 rooms with a total of over 800 beds.
Construction will begin shortly and the project is expected to be completed in mid-2017.
