Bangladesh tenders elevated metro

6 Jul 15 UK Trade & Investment is alerting British construction businesses to opportunities on a major rail project in Bangladesh.

The work involves building viaducts and elevated stations for the line from Pallabi to Agargaon.

The Bangladesh government has applied for a loan from Japan International Cooperation Agency towards the cost of the Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit development project.

The Dhaka Mass Transit Company intends to prequalify businesses for work on two contracts. Contract CP-03 involves the construction of viaducts and along a stretch of more than 4km while contract CP-04 is for similar work on a 5.7km section.

Dhaka MRT Line-6 is a 20km-long elevated metro rail system with 16 stations and one maintenance depot.
