Bank happy to lend to builders

3 Sep 14 Now that the construction industry is in full boom mode, a leading bank is targeting the sector for new business.

After several years of being about as welcome in a bank as a stripper at a christening, builders are now being courted by the money lenders.

Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking has set up a specialist transport and construction relationship team for SMEs in London.

The new unit is designed to provide a higher quality of industry-specific support for firms across the capital.

The team of eight relationship managers will focus solely on acquiring and working with transport and construction customers with a turnover of up to £25m.

Richie Coulson, senior manager, transport and construction at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, said: “Recognising and responding to the needs of our local business community is incredibly important to us. We’re committed to helping British firms prosper and we understand that in order to do this, we need to provide them with access to relationship managers who have a deep understanding of their industry.”
