Black & Veatch to oversee Indonesia power plant construction

23 Aug 16 Black & Veatch has won a consultancy role for a 1,000MW power station just east of the city of Cirebon in West Java, Indonesia.

The company will oversee the scheduling, design and construction as well as the quality control of the equipment supplied for the Cirebon 2 project.

Black & Veatch has been appointed as the owner’s engineer by PT Cirebon Energi Prasarana to help deliver the coal-powered plant.

“We are playing a critical role in helping the owner prepare the project for construction and are focusing on overseeing the contractors’ performance as well as the quality of equipment supplied. Our role includes review of the engineering design documents, carrying out shop inspections in person and monitoring the delivery of key components throughout the supply chain,” said Tariq Aziz, director, South Asia, power generation services at Black & Veatch.
