Bouygues team picked for French schools PPP

17 Feb 17 A Bouygues subsidiary has won a public-private partnership (PPP) contract to rebuild four junior schools in Sarthe, France.

Bouygues Bâtiment Grand Ouest will rebuild the four schools one for a final delivery at the end of July 2019.

The Sarthe Departmental Council adopted a “high-performance junior school” plan in October 2013 to help young people succeed in education. The plan will see modern schools built, both in terms of the buildings themselves and computer equipment. The aim is to create optimal learning conditions for students.

This PFI contract awards Bouygues Construction ncludes the design-build of four projects by the consortium led by Bouygues Bâtiment Grand Ouest, and their management for 20 years by Bouygues E&S FM France.

The consortium also includes architects (Lionel Vié, Atelier Rolland & Associés, Christophe Bailleux and William Gohier) and technical consultancy firms (SCE, BEGC, Elan and Grontmij) for the design. Bouygues Bâtiment Grand Ouest is authorised representative of the consortium and Bouygues Bâtiment Centre Sud-Ouest, will carry out the work.

Bouygues has agreed to reserve 51% of the construction work investment for local SMEs in the area. Approximately 30,000 working hours at construction sites will also be reserved for the unemployed.
