The AU$171.6m (£94m) South East Regional Hospital is located on a 17.5ha greenfield site approximately 1.5km from the Bega central business district.
“Our aim is to deliver a healthcare facility that has a positive impact on not just patients but the entire community and we look forward to being an active member of the Bega Valley Shire community for the next two years,” said David Ghannoum, regional managing director of New South Wales at Brookfield Multiplex.
Features of the hospital include an expanded emergency department, an integrated critical care unit, operating theatres, maternity and pediatrics facilities.
