Platinum Tower will have 52 levels incorporating 438 apartments and extensive private facilities. The uppermost level features a swimming pool, sauna, spa, gym, private dining, winter gardens and sky lounge with views of Melbourne’s central business district, Albert Park and Port Phillip Bay. The podium of the building accommodates a restaurant, café and concierge facilities and provides nine levels of car parking.

Brookfield Multiplex will construct a concrete structure with a predominately precast and double glazed glass facade. The building will use concrete CFA piles, a single concrete core and superstructure with post tensioned slabs.

The residential tower will have metallic painted precast feature elements and a curtain wall will feature from levels 42 to 52, including bronze and indigo coloured glass.

Environmental features include a vertical garden on levels two to eight, rainwater harvesting and re-use for landscaping, water efficient fixtures and appliances, allocation for 170 bicycle racks and high-performance glazing.

Squillace will design the building while Rincovich will manage structural engineering. WSP, Wood & Grieve and Hydrautech will be responsible for service engineering with Wood & Grieve also providing civil engineering.

Construction will begin next month and is expected to be completed in July 2016.
