Builders swap rigger boots for football boots in Leeds

16 Nov 11 Local builders from Wates Construction will swap their usual attire for a sportier look this Friday 11th November to take part in a charity football match to raise money for men’s health, specifically prostate and testicular cancer.

The match will kick off at 6:30pm at Farsley Celtic Football Ground in Pudsey, Leeds, and will see Wates take on Leeds-based Palmers Landscapers in an 11-a-side match.

The Wates team will also be sporting moustaches to mark their involvement in Movember, a charity that raises vital funds and awareness for men’s health.

Movember is a recent phenomenon that has swept the country, seeing men up and down the UK sport moustaches in the month of November to raise money.

Entry for spectators who would like to attend the event is £1, with all proceeds going to the Movember charity. Pie and peas will also be available for those who turn out to show their support.

David Price, Business Unit Director for Wates Construction in Yorkshire,

commented: “The football match will be a bit of fun for the community but it does hold an important purpose. It is vital for us to use our presence in Leeds in a positive way and show our support for charities. I urge people to come along and cheer on the team.”
