Moda Living and Apache Capital Partners appointed Carillion to build Angel Gardens, a 36-storey tower in north Manchester.

The £154m private rented sector development includes 520,000 sq ft of space with 466 apartments and 22,000 sq ft of commercial space. Amenities include a gym, cinema, resident lounges, co-working facilities, restaurants, shops and a roof terrace.

Carillion northwest operations director John Currie said: “We are pleased to be working with Moda Living to carry out this prestigious development. Carillion has a strong presence in Manchester and has delivered several major projects in the city, which have created jobs, training opportunities for young people and supported local suppliers. The construction of Angel Gardens will continue in this vein and have a lasting impact in the city.”

Angel Gardens will be the first PRS scheme delivered by Apache Capital’s joint venture with Moda Living. The joint venture, created in May 2015, has to date secured a £1 billion PRS development pipeline comprising 5,000 homes for rent in eight city centre sites across the UK. The joint venture will retain ownership of the property and operate it to create a long-term investment platform.
