CITB endorses Seddon’s training

23 Oct 13 Lancashire-based Seddon has been accredited with National Skills Academy for Construction status by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB).

The training programme will be delivered through new-build housing and regeneration projects worth around £157m set to be undertaken by Seddon in the northwest and Midlands over the next three years.

The backing endorses Seddon’s plans to train 50 apprentices, create more than 90 new jobs locally and organise 134 work placements as well as providing extensive training programmes for its subcontractors, careers events in schools and support for schools delivering construction-related courses.

“This leading industry accreditation is a significant seal of approval for our training approach, recognising our dedication to developing our own workforce, and that of our supply chain, as well as creating employment and job opportunities for local residents as we build new affordable homes across the northwest and the Midlands,” said managing director Jonathan Seddon.
