The Birmingham Dog Rescue & Welfare Centre has decided to relocate from Digbeth to a new purpose-built facility in the countryside in Catherine-de-Barnes near Solihull.

The new centre will have 120 re-homing kennels, a veterinary suite and large outside exercise areas, as well as offices and community rooms for humans and residential accommodation for the centre manager.

Clugston Construction regional manager Danny Dawson said: “This project has been secured following collaborative working to ensure the project could be delivered within the client’s budget, during this time our team has struck up a fantastic working relationship with the client’s team. We are now keen to start on site and look forward to working closely with the Birmingham Dogs Home and the project team to deliver an exceptional facility of which we can all be proud.”

Work starts on site on Monday (22nd September) with Richard Whitehead as Clugston’s project manager for the new scheme. The new centre (pictured below) is scheduled to open in summer 2015.
