Colas team wins French highway PPP

14 Jan 14 A consortium led by Colas Nord-Picardie is to build the 7km Troissereux bypass in France under a public-private partnership.

The consortium also includes LIRI, a subsidiary of London Stock Exchange-listed investment company HICL Infrastructure.

The 25-year contract with the Conseil Général de l’Oise involves financing, designing, building, maintaining and operating the bypass.

Construction is slated to last 35 months and the work will be carried out by a building consortium of project leader Colas Nord-Picardie (34%) and Bouygues Construction companies Bouygues TP Régions France (33%) and DTP Terrassement (33%).

Work will include the construction of a 7km section of two-lane road, four structures as well as a 275m-long cut-and-cover tunnel, for an initial investment of €62m (£50m). Once the section has been opened up to traffic, maintenance, operation and major repairs and upgrades will be performed by Aximum, a Colas company, for 22 years.
