The 34-week scheme will see Styles & Wood Projects redevelop the college’s hexagonal concert hall, increasing its capacity and introducing new technical facilities.

The education sector is one of the markets that Styles & Wood has been targeting. Its revenue generated from the sector has increased from £1.5m to £10m over the past 18 months. Recent education projects have included the remodelling of the Witherslack Group's Avon Park School in Warwickshire and a solar PV installation at the March Church of England Primary School in Chichester.

Styles & Wood CEO Tony Lenehan said: “The Royal Northern College of Music project is a prestigious scheme and acts as another showcase for our specialist teams' ability to create inspirational education spaces for a broad range of institutions.

"Education remains a key strategic sector for the business and the progress we have made over the past 18 months is further evidence of the success of our diversification strategy. We are confident that the group is well positioned to continue to achieve sustained growth in the education sector."
