Construction world record attempt fails

A construction workforce of 250 narrowly failed in their attempt to beat a world record in Bournemouth at the weekend.

The challenge was to build more than 683 sandcastles in an hour to break the record set in Scarborough just two months ago.

They managed it, but only 678 of the structures met the required specification. They had to be 60cm high by 60cm wide and have four turrets to count.

However, the event did succeed in raising funds for the Big Issue Foundation, a charity that helps homeless people.
