Contract awarded for $500m Lima highway

2 Feb 16 OHL has been appointed to build a new urban highway in Peru’s capital, Lima.

The investment in the scheme will total some US500m (£350m).

The city’s council approved the implementation of the Conexión La Molina-Angamos scheme, which was promoted by OHL Concesiones to integrate the main service and business areas of Lima.

The new concession involves an urban road 12km long, connecting La Molina, Surco, San Borja, Surquillo and. The new infrastructure will run at different levels, combining tunnels and cuttings, both semi-covered and open.

The road will have two lanes in each direction along the entire length, with no overpasse. The tunnel section will be 1.5km long.
