Contract let for towers at Dubai Expo village

11 Jul 17 HLG Contracting has won a contract worth AED619m (£131m) to build five 16-storey residential towers as part of the preparations for Expo 2020 Dubai.

Dubai World Trade Centre awarded the construction contract for parcels 10 and 11 of the Expo Village project that it is developing and managing.

Three of the five towers are linked together through a three-storey podium; the other are also co-joined through a shared three-storey podium. The development has a total built-up area of 155,000m2.

HLG’s work includes concrete frames, masonry, facades, fit-out, external works, and provisional sums for other aspects including the mechanical, electrical and plumbing installations and a façade cleaning system.

Construction will start this month and is due to be completed by June 2019, in time to host guests and participants from the countries participating in Expo 2020 Dubai, which opens in October 2020.
