Contract let to redevelop speed-skating site
Centrumgården AS has signed a contract with Veidekke Entreprenør for the construction of a major shopping centre at the site of the former speed-skating stadium in Hamar, Norway.
The CC Hamar Stadium is the largest construction project in the Norwegian interior since the Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, and is designed to become a centre for growth and development in Hamar and the surrounding region.
The project consists of shops, offices, parking, a goods reception area, service areas and outdoor facilities. This will be a turnkey contract with a total value of NOK900m (£96m) excluding VAT.
The new shopping centre shall be built on the site of the Hamar Stadium, where speed-skating world championships were held.
The shopping centre is due to open for business in time for the Christmas shopping season in 2014.
