Demolition contractor adds high-reach capacity

Collins Demolition has taken delivery of its first high-reach machine – a Volvo EC 380E HR with Rotar RSS20 scrap shear.

First job for the new excavator and scrap shear is in Chester, tearing down a three-storey steel-framed building in the town centre.

The new EC 380E HR comes with full Volvo factory specifications.  Tool weight capacity is three tonnes and reach is 23 metres.

Collins Demolition operates an all Volvo excavator fleet, from six to 75 tonnes. It also has various Rotar grabs, shears and pulverisers, all purchased within the last five years from attachment specialist Worsley Plant. However, until now, if it needed a high-reach excavator for a job it had to hire one in.

Director Scott Craddock said: “Owning our own high reach strengthens our demolition offering and will help us to cut costs associated with hiring one in. It is a welcome addition to our continually expanding range of equipment and we are looking forward to the next one.”
