28 Jan 15 Drake & Scull Engineering has won a contract worth AED198m (£35.7m) for mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) work on a hotel and apartment complex in the heart of Dubai.

Drake & Scull Engineering has won a contract worth AED198m (£35.7m) for mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) work on a hotel and apartment complex in the heart of Dubai.

Drake & Scull will deliver its MEP services for five buildings ranging between 15 and 19 floors. As well as a hotel and serviced apartments, the development includes a ballroom and an attached café and a marina with four five bridges.

The aim of the development is to transform the location into a vibrant urban centre and a prominent landmark in the heart of Dubai. 

Khaldoun Tabari, CEO and vice chairman of Drake & Scull International, said: “The prominent hotel project award is of great significance to the DSI Group as it gives us a promising start to 2015.”

Ahmad Al Naser, managing director of Drake & Scull Engineering, said: “DSE is delighted to start 2015 on a very positive note, after a highly successful 2014 where we picked up nearly AED 5.5 billion worth of projects across MENA and Asia.”
