Eiffage buys track maintenance business

9 Sep 15 Eiffage has taken over Pichenot-Bouillé, a rail maintenance business based near Paris.

Pichenot-Bouillé has some 50 specialist machines and carries out work ranging from routine maintenance to complete track and ballast renewal all over France, notably for SNCF and RATP. The company was founded in 1962 and has nearly 140 employees and an annual revenue of €25m (£18m).

It is being merged into the specialised services department of Eiffage’s infrastructures division. The move will enable the Eiffage Group to broaden its scope at a time when its teams are completing the 182km Bretagne-Pays de la Loire high-speed rail link and when many other projects are taking shape in France and other European countries.
