First sale for off-the-shelf Sunesis school design

Warwickshire County Council has become the first client to choose Willmott Dixon’s new off-the-shelf school design.

Willmott Dixon launched a standardised school desgin last year in partnership with Scape, using the brand of Sunesis, claiming to cut costs by up to 30%.

Warwickshire has now given the go-ahead to use a Sunesis school to create extra capacity at Oakfield Primary School in Rugby. They selected the Keynes model from the Sunesis catalogue at £2.2m, adding in optional extras of internal sliding wall, play equipment and tensile canopy alongside free furniture.

Willmott Dixon said that other councils had expressed an interest in using Sunesis, with a potential £100m of projects in the pipeline.
