Five share in £200m Aberdeenshire framework
Aberdeenshire Council has appointed five main contractors as part of a multi-million pound capital programme of works over the next three years.
The five contractors are Morrison Construction, Robertson Construction, Lend Lease, Miller Construction and FMP.
First bountry for one of these is the contract to build the Mearns Academy, due to start on site in the summer of 2012. The procurement process for this has now begun.
The framework also provides contractors for other projects including replacement and upgraded schools, care homes and various infrastructure projects with a total value of more than £200m.
Chair of policy & resources committee Cllr Anne Robertson said: “We are delighted to be moving forward with the framework and have five excellent contractors who have a proven track record of project delivery. The development of our capital plan is an important milestone on the road to delivering major building projects over the next three years which will play an important role in our communities for decades to come. The appointment is the first step in helping us realise these plans.”
