Former Balfour Beatty boss takes chair at Bovis Homes

12 Nov 13 Bovis Homes Group has named Ian Tyler as its new non-executive chairman from 29 November 2013, replacing Malcolm Harris who is retiring.

From 2005 until March 2013 Mr Tyler was chief executive of Balfour Beatty, Britain’s biggest construction contractor.

He is also a non-executive director of BAE Systems, Cable & Wireless Communications and Cairn Energy, and is also non-executive chairman of Al Noor Hospitals Group.

Chief executive David Ritchie said: "I am extremely pleased that Ian is joining the board as non-executive chairman and look forward to working with him as the group continues the ongoing successful execution of its growth strategy and the delivery of improving shareholder returns.”

Mr Tyler said: "I am both honoured and excited to be taking over from Malcolm Harris as chairman.  Bovis Homes is a great company and I'm looking forward to working with David, his management team and the board."
