Former Ramboll boss joins Mott MacDonald

8 Apr 16 Consulting engineer Mott MacDonald has appointed Steve Canadine as development director for its environment business.

Steve Canadine was managing director of Ramboll in the UK until September 2015, having previously been chief executive of Gifford, which Ramboll acquired in 2011.

Originally trained as a structural engineer, he worked at Gifford for 15 years where his project focus was on historic buildings, mixed-use developments and regeneration schemes.

He has degrees in architecture and engineering from Cambridge and Bath universities, as well as an MBA from London Business School.

James Harris, managing director of Mott MacDonald’s water and environment business, said: “Steve has undertaken a range of business and project leadership roles and is passionate about building teams who deliver excellence for the benefit of clients, consultancy and wider society. He is a fantastic addition to our existing team and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our environment business. Steve will play a key role in our growth strategy and his insight will benefit both our staff and the clients we work with.”
