Funding secured for Dubrovnik Airport upgrade

6 Apr 17 Financing is now in place for the HRK1.54bn (£177m) second phase of upgrades to Dubrovnik Airport in Croatia.

Phase 2 will include airport infrastructure as well as multi-level parking garages, jet bridges, supervision of the construction work and new systems for handling luggage.

A contract for the European Union grant was signed by transport and infrastructure minister Oleg Butkovic, Central Finance and Contracting Agency (CFCA) chief Tomislav Petric, and Dubrovnik Airport director Roko Tolic.

Prime minister Andrej Plenkovic said the signing was proof of government's commitment to infrastructure development. He said the government would continue with the completion of the Adriatic-Ionian Highway and the Peljesac Bridge.
