FGF, a family-run business based in Birmingham, has four operating centres in the UK.  The founder’s grandson Matt Taylor, who has worked for FGF since 1997, has been appointed managing director to run the business for the new owners on a day-to-day basis.

Go Interiors was founded in 2001 by John O’Leary and Gerard Abbott-Drake.

The combined group expects to turn over more than £60m and employs more than 160 people nationwide.

Gerard Abbott-Drake said: “Acquiring FGF is an unmissable opportunity to diversify and expand our offering. We look forward to working with the long-established FGF team and plan on investing heavily, enabling them to fulfil their growth potential and build upon their current success”.

For the year to 30th April 2016 FGF made a pre-tax profit of £1.1m on turnover of £24.4m.

Go Interiors showed a profit of close to £1m in the year to 30th June 2016 on turnover of £34.5m.
