Graham starts £11m Royal Observatory innovation centre

28 Jan 16 Graham Construction has begun construction of the Higgs Centre for Innovation, an £11m business centre at the Royal Observatory in Edinburgh.

The centre will be run by the Science & Technology Facilities Council in partnership with the University of Edinburgh to support start-up businesses in big data and space technologies.

The building (below) has been designed by JM Architects and construction is scheduled to be completed in 2017.

The Higgs Centre for Innovation is named after in honour of Peter Higgs, the University of Edinburgh professor awarded the Nobel Prize for his prediction of the existence of the Higgs Boson.
