West Yorkshire based HCM Projects, which is part of Harris Construction Management, has been appointed to undertake the design and construction of new extensions and alterations to the existing buildings and staff car park. It will also provide a new water treatment plant and new lorry park at the Britvic bottling plant.

Britvic’s factory and warehouse in Leeds produces mixers and fruit juices such as J2O.

Associated works include diversions to below-ground drainage, slab improvements, structural alterations, installation of ‘food-safe’ wall linings and rearrangement of the existing internal mechanical and electrical service installations.

Britvic project engineer John Marshall said: “We’re delighted this work is now underway, that will enable us to significantly expand our workforce and will create one of the most advanced bottling plants in Europe.

“HCM immediately understood our requirements and has a wealth of experience and an impressive track-record working on similar large-scale projects on live sites, which made them the ideal company for us to work with.”
