Hi-tech Bomag for Mick George

Mick George Contracting based in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, has bought a Bomag BW226DI-5 polygonal drum roller with BCM-05 GPS compaction recording system and Bomag telematics.

The 26-tonne roller with Bomag Vario Control (BVC) adaptive vibration technology and polygonal drum can compact down to depths of four metres.

Coupled with the BCM-05 system, compaction results are continuously monitored and recorded.

According to Bomag, using the deep impact roller and measurement system reduces the number of passes required and also reduce on-site testing as the Bomag system uses EVIB values that can be correlated to standard test results.
