Hochtief signs €100m of building contracts

3 Jan 17 Hochtief ended the year by winning a trio of building contracts in Germany worth more than €100m (£85m).

The company will design and build Werk 4, a 24-storey hotel and hostel complex for Otec on the former Pfanni production premises close to Munich's East railway station. The new building will be constructed directly on and around a former potato silo that continues to be used as a climbing hall. The project in the Werksviertel district is scheduled to be completed by spring 2020.

In Duisburg, Hochtief Building will construct the new State Agency for Nature, Environment & Consumer Protection on behalf of Aurelis. The project comprises a five-storey office building and a six-storey laboratory building, interconnected by a bridge. Both buildings seek Gold certification by the German Sustainable Building Council.

The third contract is at Ruhr University Bochum and follows on from two buildings for the engineering faculty. The lastest project is for a future center for high-performance materials. The five-storey building will have a gross floor area of more than 7,000m2 and will mostly house laboratories. Completion is scheduled for September 2018.
