Local suppliers are being invited to meet with the contractors to find out how they can win work on the projects to deliver approximately 250 units over the next five years.
The meet-the-buyer event, hosted by Constructionline, takes place at Leigh Sports Village on 27th January. Those who attend will be able to meet purchasers and decisions-makers from Wigan & Leigh Homes, Seddon and Willmot Dixon Housing, and find out about available opportunities.
The companies are seeking a range of suppliers, including those in bricklaying, landscaping, plumbing, and carpentry.
Seddon supply chain manager Gareth Roberts said: “We are committed to supporting local businesses in the areas in which we work and investing in the local workforce. This event not only gives us the opportunity to extend our supply chain but will also create opportunities for those subcontractors who would otherwise find it difficult to gain access to such long-term projects.”
Constructionline business development manager Claire Makin said: “We put on these events because it can be difficult for subcontractors to find out about projects with large firms like Seddon and Willmot Dixon. They help larger firms meet with a variety of suppliers and provide local contractors with a chance to get onto significant frameworks.”
