HS2 bidder appoints consulting engineers

31 Mar 16 The LFM joint venture of Laing O’Rourke, FCC and Murphy, which is bidding for HS2 work, has appointed a joint venture of WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff and Ramboll as its civil engineering design partner.

WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff and Ramboll will provide engineering design services including tunnelling, earthworks, structures, highways and viaducts.

LFM is shortlisted for three of the seven civil engineering contracts on the 140-mile first phase of the High Speed 2 project. These are:

  • Lot C1 – Chiltern Tunnels and Colne Valley Viaduct (£800m-£1.3bn)
  • Lot N1 – Long Itchington Wood Green Tunnel to Delta Junction/Birmingham Spur (£900m-£1.5bn)
  • Lot N2 – Delta Junction to West Coast Main Line Tie-in (£800m-£1.3bn).

LFM JV director Nadia Savage said, “I am delighted to welcome the WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff and Ramboll JV to the team.  Both are acknowledged experts in innovation and advanced engineering, and will be crucial to our plans to participate in the UK’s latest high speed rail project.”
