The work is being led by Integrated Health Projects (IHP), a joint venture between Vinci Construction UK and Sir Robert McAlpine. The client is Greater Manchester West Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.
Extending the Dovedale and Rydal wards on the Edenfield site will provide addditional specialist care for adults with a wide range of mental health issues.
The extension has been designed by Gilling Dod Architects.
IHP’s appointment for this project follows on from its development of a £10m adolescent mental health unit at Prestwich Hospital. That unit, called Junction 17, is now up and running.
