The National Roads Authority has established the national cycle network advisory committee (NCNAC), which also includes Fáilte Ireland and the National Trails Office to advise on the development of the national cycleway network.
The first national cycleway will be between Dublin and Galway and will open in phases. The first phase consists of approximately 60km of new cycleway and it is due for completion this year. The additional phases will be brought through the planning process during 2013.
