Jaguar Land Rover gets go-ahead for specialist workshop

12 Nov 15 Warwick District Council has granted planning permission for Jaguar Land Rover to develop a new building and workshop for preparation of one-off and other special cars.

The development will take place at the former Honiley Airfield. The new building will accommodate the company's vehicle operations division, which has responsibility for key vehicles including motor show and press cars as well as unique models sent for use around the world.

Workshops, paint booths and offices will be included in the 17,800m2 development.

The workshop block will have horizontally laid dark grey profiled cladding and a two-storey office block clad in an off-white flat panelled rain-screen system linked to the workshop by a glazed atrium.

Both elements of the building will have a low level brick plinth. Glazing will be polyester powder-coated, aluminium frames.

Ancilliary works include alterations to the vehicle track on the site, parking and storage areas for part-preapared vehicles.
