Kazakhstan gets €121m for railway maintenance

30 Sep 14 The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is providing a €121m (£94.5m) loan to Kazakhstan’s national rail company.

The loan to Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) will be used finance the purchase of equipment for logistics and infrastructure maintenance.

KTZ is a joint stock company that manages the country’s railway system and also operates passenger and freight rail services, handling about half of all rail freight in the country.
